meet the artist
I was born in Stirling, Scotland where I developed a lifelong love of Art, and graduated from The Glasgow School of Art with a degree in Fine Art. After studying Education, I taught all ages.
In 1987 I moved with my family to beautiful Chester County where I continued to teach art in Downingtown, sharing my passion with another generation of students.
The God-given beauty around me continually captivates my creative energy. Nature is a constant source of inspiration, be it the hedgerows of a field or the majestic drama of the Highlands. I find inspiration in Scottish landscapes and the natural beauty of Chester County and I love the effects created by the light on the land and the sea.
I work intuitively across a variety of media, including acrylics, watercolors, and fiber art, the latter having been studied in-depth at The Glasgow School of Art.
I am a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and the Artists Circle. I have exhibited at The Malvern Retreat Art Show, Yellow Springs Fine Art and Craft Show, The Boyer Gallery, and Chester County Studio Tour. My work can regularly be seen at Maureen’s Gallery in Exton.
